Summary

D-Brief collects no data. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Everything runs on your device.

Data Collection

D-Brief does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

• No accounts or sign-ups — the app requires no registration
• No analytics or telemetry — no usage data is collected or sent anywhere
• No advertising — no ad networks, no ad tracking
• No cookies or fingerprinting — no browser-based tracking
• No location data — the app does not access your location
• No contacts, camera, or microphone — none of these permissions are requested

On-Device Processing

All article curation, AI inference, and data storage happens entirely on your device:

• AI models run locally using on-device inference (llama.rn). No data is sent to any cloud AI service.
• Digest history, favorites, and settings are stored as local JSON files on your device. They are not synced or backed up to any server.
• Article deduplication uses a local database on your device.

Network Usage

D-Brief connects to the internet for two purposes only:

• Fetching articles — the app requests RSS feeds, Reddit posts, and other public sources you configure. These are standard HTTP requests to public endpoints. Your IP address is visible to those servers as with any web request.
• Downloading AI models — if you choose to download an AI model, it is fetched from Hugging Face. No account or authentication is required.

D-Brief does not send any data from your device to any server. All network traffic is inbound (fetching public content).

Update Checks

On launch, the app checks densanon.com/d-brief-version.json to see if a newer version is available. This is a single HTTP GET request. No device information is transmitted.

Third-Party Services

D-Brief does not integrate with any third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or data processing services.

Children's Privacy

D-Brief does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Since D-Brief collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
